The annual general meeting of the Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia (RBBN), which gathered in Tallinn on June 20, 2023, approved the annual report and discussed the future activities of the NGO.
“The RB business network Estonia has been continuously active in the dialogue between companies interested in the RB and the public sector partners of the project,” said Tõnis Tamme, member of the board of RBBN and partner at TRINITI law firm.
He noted that participation in the business network’s quarterly seminars has been very active and was particularly pleased that last year the first study visit took RBBN members to the Stuttgart and Karlsruhe region in southern Germany, where they were introduced to the construction and development of several large infrastructure projects.
As in previous years also this AGM included interesting guest speakers. Kaarel Kose, advisor for international cooperation of the Harjumaa Local Governments Association, gave an overview of the current status and developments of the future Tallinn ring railroad. Transport and transit expert Raivo Vare spoke about the opportunities of Rail Baltic in the post-war global supply and transit chains.
The non-profit organisation Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia was established in 2015 to give businesses a better voice in issues related to the new Rail Baltica and to involve the business community early in the development of Rail Baltica and the mapping of related business opportunities. The network currently includes 26 companies and organisations, 2 of which are supporting members.
