Tõnis Tamme and Meelis Niinepuu, two board members of Rail Baltica Business Network, and Vadim Shabarov, who has been the director of operations in container train operator Baltic Rail AS for the eight last years, discussed about the business potential of Rail Baltic and about the North-South Transport Corridor in an interview to Äripäeva radioshow “TRINITI eetris”. All three guests of the podcast agreed without a doubt, that Rail Baltic will create new opportunities for entrepreneurs and hundreds of new jobs.
Meelis Niinepuu talked about the latest survey, which was carried out amongst entrepreneurs in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and mapped their expectations towards Rail Baltic. Their main interest is to secure procurements contracts in different phases of designing and building Rail Baltic and its infrastructure.
Tõnis Tamme, who is also partner at law firm TRINITI introduced the activities of Rail Baltic Business Network and about the need for such a non-profit organization in the wake of Rail Baltic, which allows dialog between entrepreneurs and governments. Tamme emphasized that European Union has the tendency to complete projects they have initiated and there is no reason to think that EU should abort the financing of Rail Baltic.
Vadim Shabarov shared his insights and experiences from the logistics sector and confirmed that there is an international demand to extend railway of the North-South Transport Corridor all the way to the shores of the Finnish gulf.
